I want to share my story with you and why I am so passionate about helping others…..

In 1998 my beloved 2-year-old daughter Bobbi-Lynn was diagnosed with pineoblastoma, an extremely rare and aggressive brain tumor, and six months later, my father announced he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. I watched the two greatest loves of a person's life – a child and a parent – both fighting for their lives.

My father asked me to promise I wouldn't take the challenging experience and lose myself in a negative spiral but use it to help others.

Sadly, in 1999, they both lost their battles. At that time, I did not know what to do to keep my father's promise.

In 2007 my husband and I moved from California to Pewaukee (where he grew up) and began working in the fitness industry for Craig Ballantyne, author of Turbulence Training.

I feel that anyone can achieve their goals with the right training program, determination, and support! I quickly learned that I wanted to share my education and enthusiasm, encourage a happier lifestyle, and help people realize what their bodies can achieve. So in 2009, I started Lakeside Fitness LLC, focusing on small and personal training.

I firmly believe that everyone who comes into our lives may be part of our mission, and we, a part of theirs. So I have made it my mission to make a difference in people's lives by bringing awareness of health and fitness.

I feel the same responsibility towards my Troopers as I do with my community and neighborhood, so I try to get involved and contribute locally whenever possible.

I sat on the board of the Pewaukee Volunteer Service Club of Pewaukee Lake, where we raise funds to help women, children, and families in Waukesha County move beyond challenges to living life more fully.

We have contributed to LifeStriders Therapeutic Riding Center, the Heartland Food Pantry, Lake Country Caring, a drop-off location for Souls for Jesus - a national nonprofit that sends gently worn shoes to Third World countries.

But not every charitable action is financial. Our members have donated their time to serve breakfast at Hope Center's Outreach Meal Program, a nonprofit serving the basic needs in Waukesha County, and so many other organizations.

Every person has what it takes to reach their best, and I love celebrating the small wins that catapult people to places they never dreamed they could be.

I look forward to celebrating your wins, small or large, and being more of a part of the Lakeside community!!

Have a wonderful and blessed day,

Lesa Gutenkunst
